The Conservative background

This blog has the title From Conservatism to Catholicism, which is how I see this situation. I've never written about my time in the party so I thought I'd combine the two. Names won't be named because its the guilty that need more protection than the innocent. Only joking, they've all been good to me. All the boys I've ever met. It's the young men that are the real bastards. But I've never seen one yet in my social circles and long may that continue.

So we start a new journey which I’m going to share with you here.  In many ways this situation is the opposite of what’s happening in the world today. Perhaps you yourself have noticed that religion seems to have been replaced by politics.  This situation is looking like the reverse.

Cutting a long story short (Although you wouldn't think it) I've met and come to know a lot of powerful and influential people. Have met with the prime minister many of the people in cabinet and been through the doors of Number Ten. And I have to say,  I’ve never seen any of them 'punch down' in terms of class.   I’ve seen the ruffians punching up, however, like they resent success. In fact the worst and very recent example was that of a left wing cardiologist who was so keen to hold my love of shooting and the Conservative party against me it truly beggared belief. I imagine he'd be one of the first to put an 'equality for all' frame on his Facebook profile.

"Let's face it, we're all working class now no-one gets paid for doing nothing"

So I never mind the rich boys. They are gentlemen at heart, kind men and loving sons, husbands and fathers. Always been the kindest to me, beautifully spoken and I’ve learnt a lot from them. Excellent company, keeping up with my fast tongue and varied smut. That said,  I learnt a lot from the ruffians too sometimes how not to behave can be just as valuable as how best to. More so in my experience.

I don’t tend to ask people their churchgoing practices but I ought to mention  I was visited by the Jehovah’s Witnesses for seven years. Probably the only person in the world who couldn't get in to them. The reason being, at the time,  I couldn't give up my links to the Conservative party. Mostly because as I say, they'd been so kind to me. They still are and involve me in so much. It's formed a great deal of my identity and I remain Area Deputy Chairman and Head of Membership in a national role.

As this is written, we haven’t yet got the new prime minister in place. A choice between Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak.

Neither of them are Boris Johnson. I remember when I was growing up in the pubs everybody knew who Boris was. We all thought he was funny and he gave the whole nation hope.  That’s why so many people  people voted for him, they weren’t voting for the Conservative party at all they were voting for Boris Johnson.

He was a sensible choice because he’s been Mayor of London twice and secured the Olympics. Let's look at London now, our capital city under Sadiq Khan -  it’s full of stabbings.

Boris the cheerful candidate, clownish and lovable. A man we felt we knew, and loved. We saw him bring his girlfriend into Downing Street,  become a father - a  father of two.  The nation saw him deliver Brexit,  the fastest vaccine rollout in the World. Whilst also battling Covid himself resulting in being treated in Intensive Care. He also lost his Mother.

The general public forgot that so quickly. I'll never forget that and I watched my own party turn on him. It was a horrendous and needless pantomime. With no less than fifty-nine members of government resigning to deliberately cause instability and make the leader's position untenable.

Two of the main perpetrators or just traitors were the new health secretary Sajid Javid, pronounced Savage Damage and the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak. Two names nobody would’ve heard of had it not been for Boris Johnson. They all turned on him and that was when I realised I could not longer be a part of this.  I still maintain the area and national role but it’s not in my heart anymore. This party was about loyalty, not betrayal.

The Conservative party is the oldest, most successful political party in the world. The Catholic Church is the successful denomination of Christianity in the world, what could possibly go wrong?
