Finding Love - Campaigning to Church
Normally I read on a Saturday morning in Church, the local tory WhatsApp group has been going mad with everyone meeting to deliver leaflets. It occurred to me today FromConservativismtoCatholicism - it really has been for me.
There's been a lot of change in the party. We have a new leader now, Kemi Badenoch. An outspoken Nigerian lady. As I've said before, loyalty was always our secret weapon. It's not so much that it hasn't remained a secret but more, sadly, that there is no loyalty. With this in mind she has my full support.
I'll not give up church to campaign but will try and do a bit more to support the candidates locally. I interviewed them because I sit on the selection committee there's also more to tell about the party nationally but I'll come onto that
A great deal has happened these last six months. I've met someone. Life is wonderful really.
We met whilst out shooting, a time I feel so close to God, out in the natural world that humans have kept so vibrant for the songsters. 'Subdue it'
I love shooting and miss it a great deal, being outdoors, the sense of community, the nearness to nature, all the families and heritage and engineering of the guns, the heirlooms, the stories, the camaraderie.
I think we are going next week. Mike and I. Everyone calls him Mike but I call him Michael, like his mum used to. Turns out he went to a convent for the first ten years of his life.
He thinks he's not religious but he's a Christian man through and through. I invited him to the Pancake dinner and now we run our own prayer group. Prego. It's from St Beunos. I'll let you know more as we go along
He is going through the RCIA and I'm accompanying him.
We pray together as a couple which is wonderful
We should try and campaign together also but God comes first and we like to follow the rules
We always go into any church we can for a look around.
I love him and believe he is my gift from God. Truly.
